Sad news

I received some pretty tough news today...my Dad called me at work to tell me that my grandma had passed away. It was very unexpected. It's so hard to deal with my emotions and to cope with her loss when I'm so far away. I feel a tremendous guilt that I couldn't be there with my family today. She was a wonderful and beautiful person who loved her family so much. We have so many memories growing up with her... caking her face with makeup and teasing her hair, getting spiral perms from her at her kitchen table, her infamous chicken patty lunch dinners, playing "annie annie over" her garage and more. She was a quiet lady of little words, but her presence alone brought so much love. I just wish that I had called her more to let her know how much she truly meant to me. Life is just to short.
