Day 5 post op
Although the t-shirt seemed to be doing it's job pretty well, we were skeptical that it would continue to do so once he started feeling better. And after Chad, our friend from Maryland, shared with us his dog's similar experience (which included his dog disrupting the stitches) we decided that we didn't want to repeat that pattern. So, we took his advice and bought this snazzy E. collar at Petsmart which he doesn't seem to mind either. It doesn't obstruct his view and we find that he uses it as a pillow too. However, he does seem to have a rather large learning curve when it comes to judging spatial relations in regards to doorways and such but we sort of expected that from him. He doesn't doesn't seem to mind either...he's content bouncing his way from room to room.
He's doing great and we have cut back his pain meds. He's playing and pouncing on his toys and even pulling on the leash when we go for his mini poop walks. He's now off of the Benedryl and Tagament (for upset stomachs caused by the histamine release). Hopefully the path results will come back on Monday, but I must admit that I'm a little nervous to get that call.
Here's his new uniform.
